# Introduction to Shard Network

Shard Network is a campus internet service provider that builds access.

We provide fast, reliable, and affordable internet to African campuses using satellite technology. But we do not stop there. We use that internet connection as the foundation to build something bigger: a bridge connecting African students to the internet, to each other, and to the world.

### <mark style="color:$tint;">**We are four things in one:**</mark>

1. **A Campus Internet Service Provider** – We bring fast, reliable, 24/7 internet to campuses that big telecoms ignore. Satellite-powered. 50-70% cheaper than mobile data.
2. **A Social Network** – We connect students across Africa into a community of builders, creators, and dreamers. It is not just about giving them internet access; it is about giving them a tribe.
3. **A Global Opportunity Bridge** – We connect students to global opportunities: mentorship, partnerships, funding, internships, scholarships, remote jobs. A way to step onto the global stage.
4. **A Pan-African Distribution Chain** – We connect global brands to African talent. A pipeline for companies to access skilled, ambitious students across the continent.

The internet is the first door. But after that door opens, students need access to people who can guide them, money and resources, the world, and a community that believes in them. Shard Network builds that entire ecosystem.

### <mark style="color:$tint;">Our Core Values</mark>

<details>

<summary><mark style="color:$tint;">1. Access</mark></summary>

We believe opportunity begins with connection. Our work is to give access to as many students as possible, not to sell a product. Every decision we make must expand access, not restrict it.

</details>

<details>

<summary><mark style="color:$tint;">2. Simplicity</mark></summary>

We remove friction. No confusing steps or setups. If a student or a team member struggles to understand what we do, then we haven't done our job. We make everything stupid simple and understandable because complexity is the enemy of scale. We choose clarity over cleverness, always.

</details>

<details>

<summary><mark style="color:$tint;">3. Reliability</mark></summary>

We keep our promises. When we say the network is up, it is up. When we say a plan has no hidden fees, it has none. Our brand is built on trust, and trust is earned by showing up consistently, no excuses.

</details>

<details>

<summary><mark style="color:$tint;">4. Community</mark></summary>

We do not extract value from our users; instead, we grow with them. Our success is directly tied to the success of the students, creators, and entrepreneurs who rely on us. We listen first, build second, and share everything we learn because we are not just an internet company, we are a family whose success is tied to each other.

</details>

<details>

<summary><mark style="color:$tint;">5. Growth</mark></summary>

We are never finished. Growth means improving ourselves, our product, and our impact every single day. We invest in our team, our users, and our infrastructure because stagnation is failure. The future belongs to those who keep learning.
