# Our Expansion Plans

Shard Network is not building just an internet service. We are building a campus‑focused ecosystem that grows with our users. Our expansion plan covers four horizons: 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 5 years. Each phase introduces new revenue streams and increases our impact on students across Africa.

Shard Network grows through five interconnected engines: **Subscription, Media (Shard TV), Events & Experiences, Franchise, and Talent & Startup Programs**. The timeline below shows how each engine scales over 5 years.

### How Expansion Affects Revenue

| Revenue Stream | Month 6 | Year 1 | Year 2 | Year 5 |
| ------------------------------------- | ------- | ------ | ------ | ------ |
| Subscriptions | 100% | 90‑95% | 60‑70% | 50‑60% |
| Media (Shard TV) | – | 5‑10% | 15‑20% | 25‑30% |
| Events & Experiences | – | – | 5‑10% | 5‑10% |
| Franchise | – | – | 5‑10% | 10‑15% |
| Talent & Startup Programs (hackathon) | – | – | 5‑10% | 10‑15% |

**Why this matters:** Diversified revenue keeps student prices low while building a profitable, self‑sustaining company. Launching the hackathon **after** media and events are established maximises sponsor appeal, content reach, and investor participation.

### Our Promise

The expansion plan is ambitious, but every step is rooted in the same principle: **Access Changes Everything**. More students connected → more content created → more partners engaged → more revenue to reinvest → even more students connected. It is a virtuous cycle that we are ready to lead.
